The anti-DNA antibody test measures the presence of these antibodies in the blood, which is crucial for diagnosing autoimmune diseases such as lupus. We use the Chemiluminescence (C.M.I.A.) technique to ensure accurate and reliable results.
The sample can be citrated blood or plasma/citrate. In both cases, the initial 3 mL from the puncture must be discarded. Send without centrifuging at a temperature between 2 - 8° C, or centrifuge and transfer to a plastic tube, preferably frozen. The sample must not show hemolysis, lipemia, or icterus.
