The Antithrombin III test measures the concentration of this protein in the blood, which is essential for evaluating coagulation disorders. We use the chromogenic technique to ensure accurate and reliable results.
The sample can be citrated blood (1 mL) or plasma/citrate (1 mL). In both cases, the initial 3 mL from the venipuncture must be discarded. The sample must be sent free of hemolysis, lipemia, or icterus.
